I’ve been placing an emphasis on sleep lately and as a result, I’ve been struggling to fit fitness into my morning routine. I’ve had it scheduled into the AM routine right after my “bible and book reading time” which flows into “getting dressed for workout”. In an ideal world, my workout would be complete before I make a lunch for my husband and take the boys to school.
However, it hasn’t been happening and my workouts have been flowing into my morning chores that happen before I start work. I’ve been surprised at how well the laundry chore flowed so well into my workout, and really liking the “active rest breaks” during my workout! Check it out and try it out…
Warm-up: Take laundry out of dryer and carry to bed. Bring basket of clothes on way back to washer. Transfer clothes in washer to dryer and start. Load/start washer with next load. Bring empty basket back to bedroom.
Superset 1: 25 reps of Kettlebell Squats + Active Rest (fold 1/4 of laundry pile)
Superset 2: 25 reps of Kettlebell Squats + Active Rest (fold 1/4 of laundry pile)
Superset 3: 25 reps of Kettlebell Squats + Active Rest (fold 1/4 of laundry pile)
Superset 4: 70 Russian Kettlebell Swings + Active Rest (fold 1/4 of laundry pile)
Superset 5: 70 Russian Kettlebell Swings + Active Rest (take laundry to kids’ room)
Superset 6: 60 Russian Kettlebell Swings + Active Rest (put clothes away in my room).
Cooldown: Pick up living room floors.
So, there you go multi-tasking mamas! I’m convinced these supersets work because of the simplicity, yet effectiveness of the exercises. If kettlebells aren’t your think – what can you do?
Push-ups? Pull-ups? Spinning on a bike? Rowing on a rower?
